X Enables 4K Video Uploads for Premium Users

X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk (formerly known as Twitter), has officially rolled out 4K video upload capability. On May 16, the platform's official account announced the new feature with a post stating, “4K has finally arrived on X Video.”, according to a report from Social Media Today.

Although the feature had been under development for an extended period, it faced several delays due to technical complications. It was initially slated for launch in 2023 as part of Musk’s broader vision for the “everything app,” but the implementation timeline was pushed back.

Initially released to a select group of content creators, the 4K video upload feature is now available to all premium users of the platform. As a result, premium subscribers can now upload high-quality video content, which could help them attract more viewers and grow their follower base.

X stated that video content is becoming increasingly central to the platform and is now being viewed more frequently on television screens. In line with this trend, the platform is also preparing to launch a live-streaming feature soon, aiming to enhance its broadcast capabilities.
