Aviation Alliances Advance: Chief Adviser Meets Airbus and Menzies Executives in London

Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the interim government, met with top executives from global aviation giants Airbus and Menzies Aviation during his ongoing visit to the United Kingdom.

On Tuesday, June 10, Vautier Van Vers, Executive Vice President of French aerospace corporation Airbus, and Charles Wiley, Executive Vice President of Menzies Aviation, called on the Chief Adviser at London’s Dorchester Hotel.

According to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing, during the morning meeting with the Airbus representative, both sides discussed areas of mutual interest, including aviation technology and potential investment. Later, at 12:30 PM, a separate meeting was held with Menzies Aviation’s Executive Vice President, where various aviation-related matters were discussed.

Dr. Lutfey Siddiqi, the Chief Adviser’s Special Envoy for International Affairs, Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Abida Islam, and members of the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing were present at the meetings.

Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam stated, “Menzies is the largest airport ground handler in the world, operating across more than 350 airports globally. Discussions were held on various aviation issues. The government is working to operationalize the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport soon. Several entities are being considered for ground handling at the terminal, and this meeting with Menzies was in line with those discussions.”

Earlier that day, the Chief Adviser arrived in London at 7:05 AM local time via an Emirates Airlines flight.

Later at the hotel, the Chief Adviser also held a meeting with Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland (Sharlie Ayorkor Botchwey).

It is also reported that during this visit, the Chief Adviser is scheduled to meet King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, where he will receive an honorary distinction from the monarch.
