Starting Tuesday, July 1, 2025, all police stations under the Dhaka and Mymensingh ranges will begin offering comprehensive online General Diary (GD) services, according to a press release issued by Police Headquarters on Monday, June 30.
Previously, only GDs related to lost and found items could be filed online. With the latest development, a total of 134 police stations under these two ranges will now allow filing of all types of GDs through the online platform. The service is part of a broader initiative to make police services more accessible and citizen-friendly, following directives from the Chief Adviser.
The press release stated, “As part of simplifying police services and making them more accessible from home, Bangladesh Police is introducing the facility to file all types of GDs online.”
The statement also confirmed that similar online GD services are already operational in all police stations under the Sylhet Range, Sylhet Metropolitan Police, Chattogram Range, and Chattogram Metropolitan Police. The system will be gradually expanded to other ranges and metropolitan areas across the country.
To access the service, citizens must download the Online GD app from the Google Play Store and complete a one-time registration. No repeated registration is necessary.
If users encounter difficulties during registration or while submitting a GD online, they are encouraged to contact the 24/7 police helpline at 01320001428.
Earlier, Bangladesh Police launched online GD services across all stations in the Sylhet and Chattogram divisions as pilot areas for this digital transformation.
