Gaming Turns Grim: Youth Fatally Hit by Train in Joypurhat

A 27-year-old man named Subhash tragically lost his life after being hit by a train while playing a game on his mobile phone near a railway track in Joypurhat.
The accident occurred around 11 PM on Tuesday night (June 10) in the Narayan Para area of Joypurhat Sadar upazila. The deceased, Subhash, was a resident of the same area and the son of Ganesh.
Local resident Rezaul Karim said, “Subhash used to work at my house. Last night, after finishing his work, he went out to the railway line to get some air due to the heat. While sitting there, he was playing a game on his mobile phone when a train came and hit him. He died on the spot.”
Officer-in-Charge of Santahar Railway Police Station, Habibur Rahman, confirmed the incident and said, “Upon receiving the report of the accident, police retrieved the body in the morning and handed it over to the family.”
Just a day earlier, another fatal train accident occurred in Joypurhat’s Akkelpur upazila, where a 45-year-old man was struck and killed by a train. The incident took place near the western side of the Holholia railway bridge in Sonamukhi Union, where the man was reportedly sitting on the tracks early in the morning.
