Xiaomi Expands Focus Beyond Smartphones with AI-Powered Devices
For the sixth consecutive year, Xiaomi Bangladesh has refrained from launching new smartphones during Eid, instead shifting its focus to TVs and IoT devices. The Chinese tech giant is now emphasizing broader life solutions, integrating AI-powered innovations into its product lineup.
On Thursday, at the InterContinental Hotel in Dhaka, Xiaomi Bangladesh’s Country Manager, Zia Uddin Chowdhury, officially unveiled two new smartphones—the AI-driven flagship Redmi Note 14 Pro and the champion camera phone Redmi A5. Bangladesh joined the global launch of Redmi A5 4+, priced at BDT 10,999, while the Redmi Note 14 Pro will be available in the local market for BDT 29,999.
Speaking at the launch event, Zia Uddin Chowdhury stated, "Although we are known as a smartphone brand, we are fundamentally an internet service company. As a result, in 2024, we have achieved a 35% business growth."
Outlining Xiaomi’s 10-year tech philosophy, he emphasized the company’s focus on three key sectors—human, automotive, and home technology. Xiaomi is set to introduce air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines in the near future. Additionally, it has already developed its proprietary operating system, Xiaomi HyperOS.
Highlighting the unique features of the newly launched smartphones, Xiaomi Bangladesh’s Sales Manager, Kati Naeem, announced that customers purchasing any AI-powered smartphone this Eid will receive a 45% discount.
