Daffodil University Hosts Cyber Awareness Workshop

The Cyber Security Center (CSC) of Daffodil International University (DIU), under the overall supervision and direction of its Director and Associate Professor of Software Engineering Department, Dr. Rubaiyat Islam, successfully organized the day-long program "Cyber Awareness for Young Minds (CAYM) 2026" at its campus. Operating under the theme “Smart, Safe, and Secure: Practical Cybersecurity for School & College Students,” the initiative aimed at fostering responsible digital behavior and equipping students with practical skills to mitigate online risks.
The event brought together nearly 90 students and over 20 teachers from Rajuk Uttara Model College, Milestone School and College, Mahim Model School and College, and DIU School and College. Held at the International Conference Hall, the inauguration was graced by DIU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal as the Chief Guest, alongside Faculty of Science and Information Technology Dean Prof. Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain and Software Engineering Department Head Prof. Dr. Imran Mahmud.
In the technical sessions, International Crimes Tribunal Prosecutor and Digital Forensics Expert Tanvir Hasan Zoha delivered insights on social media crimes. HSBC Bangladesh Head of Cyber Security Md. Saiful Islam Rajib addressed online financial frauds in the "Fintech Scam" module, while entrepreneur F. M. Sarwar Hossain conducted a session on tackling online harassment and fake news. Participants received an 'A to Z Cybersecurity Glossary' leaflet, campus tour, and certificates of completion at the closing ceremony.
