BRTC Launches E-Ticketing for Women
- BRTC introduces e-ticketing on 14 women's bus routes across three cities
- Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between BRTC and Shohoj.com
- Digital ticketing technology aims to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability
To advance smart public transportation technology and automated fare collection infrastructure, the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shohoj.com to implement electronic ticketing (e-ticketing) across women-only bus services. August 12, 2026, Wednesday—the strategic partnership was formally announced. Under this agreement, automated e-ticketing systems will be deployed across 14 dedicated women's bus routes in Dhaka, Chattogram, and Bogura to streamline passenger ticketing, reduce wait times, and improve operational transparency.
The signing was executed by 10 depot managers for operating the 14 routes in the presence of BRTC Chairman Abdul Latif Molla, Shohoj Director Shakil Jowad Rahim, and senior leadership from both organizations. BRTC Chairman Abdul Latif Molla stated that integrating technology-driven ticketing architecture will help establish data-driven transport management while boosting passenger trust. Shohoj Director Shakil Jowad Rahim highlighted that this initiative aligns with broader intelligent transport system (ITS) integration to modernize the nation's transit framework. The digital service will be rolled out in phases across the three designated cities shortly.
