JUST Marks Independence and National Day 2026 with Ceremonial Observances

Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) celebrated Independence and National Day 2026 through a series of programmes, including the collective rendition of the national anthem, laying of wreaths at the Bijoy Stambha in Jashore city, and prayers seeking forgiveness (maghfirat) for the souls of the martyrs.

On Thursday, 26 March, the formal observance at JUST began at sunrise with the hoisting of the national flag and the university flag in front of the administrative building, accompanied by the national anthem sung in chorus. At 10:00 am, on the occasion of Independence and National Day, a delegation led by Treasurer Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun—comprising deans of various faculties, chairmen, office heads, teachers, students, officers, and staff—placed wreaths at the Bijoy Memorial in Monihar, Jashore city.

Following Zuhr prayers, a special doa and munajat were held at the university’s central mosque, seeking peace and prosperity for the nation, continued national development, and forgiveness for the souls of those martyred in the Great Liberation War. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid was present at the prayer.

Also present at the day’s programmes were Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Dr. Md. Imran Khan; Dean of the Faculty of Biological Science and Technology Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman; Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology Professor Dr. Shirin Nigar; Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Professor Dr. Md. Ziaul Amin; Proctor Professor Dr. S. M. Nur Alam; along with chairmen of various departments, office heads, teachers, students, officers, and staff.
