Vocational Vision: IsDB-BISEW Empowers Disadvantaged Youth with Free Technical Training
For over 11 years, the Islamic Development Bank-Bangladesh Islamic Solidarity Educational Wakf (IsDB-BISEW) has been providing six-month vocational training under its scholarship program to underprivileged Muslim youth who dropped out of the mainstream education system. Through its Vocational Scholarship Project, 1,741 trained individuals are now employed in over 248 organizations both at home and abroad.
Applications are now open for the 40th phase of the program, with the deadline set for July 31. This phase offers training in Electrical Works, Electronics, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Welding and Fabrication, and Machinist trades. The 720-hour program includes a monthly stipend of BDT 500, totaling BDT 3,000, along with free accommodation and meals. Additionally, comprehensive job placement support is provided at no cost.
Eligible candidates must be disadvantaged Muslims aged between 18 and 26 years, having passed at least grade eight and at most the SSC level. The application is completely free and can be submitted online. Interested applicants are advised to read the instructions carefully before completing the form available via the designated link.
It is important to note that currently enrolled students are not eligible for this scholarship. However, those who have completed their Honours, Masters, or Diploma— or are currently pursuing such degrees— may apply for the IsDB-BISEW IT Scholarship Programme, which offers a one-year training opportunity to become certified IT professionals.
