YouTube Create Coming to iOS After Android Exclusivity

After being exclusive to Android for two years, YouTube’s video editing app YouTube Create is now on its way to iOS, according to a report by TechCrunch.

The report states that Google has already begun developing the iOS version, hiring software engineers in Bengaluru, India to work on the project.

YouTube Create is a free mobile editing tool designed specifically for content creators, offering features such as stickers, GIFs, and various effects. Despite being a late entrant in the video editing app space, the app has witnessed a 28% year-over-year growth in user base.

Currently, 51% of YouTube Create’s users are based in India, with growing adoption in Indonesia, Germany, Brazil, and the United Kingdom. The app is also gaining rapid popularity in Spain, South Korea, and France.

Analysts believe that launching the iOS version could help YouTube Create strengthen its market presence. However, they note that the app will face tough competition from established players such as CapCut and InShot.
