BTRC Withdraws Five ISP Licence Cancellations

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has withdrawn its previous orders cancelling the licences of five Internet Service Provider (ISP) companies. Following the commission’s decision, the companies have been instructed to submit applications for licence renewal through the proper process.
August 11, Tuesday, the information was disclosed in a notice issued by BTRC’s Licensing Branch. The notice was issued by BTRC Director Lieutenant Colonel Syed Md Toufiqul Islam.
According to the notice, the cancellation orders for five licences that had been cancelled through a BTRC memorandum dated December 3, 2024, have been withdrawn following a decision by the commission.
The five companies covered by the withdrawal are Brother’s Online BD, a Divisional ISP in Rajshahi Division; Linkin Net, an Upazila/Thana ISP in Khilgaon; Bhuiyan Net & Solution, operating in Narayanganj Sadar; S. Communication, operating in Hathazari; and Cyber World, operating in Motijheel. These ISPs are members of ISPAB.
BTRC instructed the concerned companies to submit proper applications for licence renewal through its www.lims.btrc.gov.bd portal.
Copies of the notice have been sent to relevant BTRC departments, including Systems and Services, Spectrum, Administration, Finance, Accounts and Revenue, and Enforcement and Inspection. The commission has also instructed that the notice be published on its website.
