​'City Bank Spotlight' Held at BAU to Guide Students on Corporate Careers

A career planning and institutional guidance program titled 'City Bank Spotlight' was held at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) to provide students with comprehensive insights into career strategies and corporate opportunities.

The program was organized by the Institute of Agribusiness and Development Studies (IADS) at the university's Syed Nazrul Islam Conference Hall on Wednesday (August 12) at 11:00 AM. Professor Dr. A K Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of BAU, attended the event as the chief guest.

​The event commenced with a welcome address by the Director of IADS, Professor Dr. Chhadekha Haq. Special guests included Student Affairs Advisor Prof. Dr. Md. Shahidul Haque, Coordinator of the Higher Education and Research Committee Prof. Dr. Md. Samshul Alam, Director of BAURES Prof. Dr. Md. Hammadur Rahman, and President of the Bangladesh Agricultural Economists Association Mohammad Ahsanuzzaman Lintou. Moderated by Prof. Dr. Shakila Salam, the guests shared valuable personal development blueprints with the students.

​The core segment of the event, the 'Spotlight Keynote Session,' was conducted by Mohammad Mahmood Gani, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking at City Bank PLC. He outlined the evolving trends of the corporate ecosystem, future career mapping, and essential industry skills. Speaking as the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A K Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan urged students to balance their academic text tracking with time management, deep focus, and diligence.

He also emphasized developing soft skills, positive body language, and confident communication. The two-hour event included a 15-minute interactive Q&A session, concluding with closing remarks and a photo session attended by faculty members, bank executives, and around 250 students.
