CUET Vice-Chancellor Urges Engineers to Embrace Lifelong Learning
The Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiya, emphasized that engineers must adopt lifelong learning to keep pace with rapidly evolving technologies. He also encouraged graduates to uphold ethics, pursue innovation, and contribute to national development.
The Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiya, said engineers must embrace lifelong learning to keep pace with rapidly evolving technologies. He emphasized the importance of enhancing professional skills, mastering emerging technologies, and promoting innovation and research for the benefit of the nation and humanity.
On June 30, he made the remarks while addressing the farewell ceremony of the ME-20 batch, organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the university's central auditorium as the chief guest.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the pursuit of knowledge never ends and that engineers must continuously develop themselves to remain competent in a changing technological landscape.
He described mechanical engineering as one of the most fundamental and comprehensive branches of engineering, noting that mechanical engineers play a vital role in industrialization, energy, manufacturing, automation, robotics, smart manufacturing, and sustainable development.
Addressing the graduating students, he urged them to establish themselves professionally with integrity, ethical values, and excellence while contributing to the reputation of both the country and the university.
Special guests at the event included Professor Dr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, and Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Director of the Directorate of Student Welfare.
Faculty members Professor Dr. Md. Mahbubul Alam, Professor Dr. Sajal Chandra Bonik, Professor Dr. Jamal Uddin Ahmad, Professor Dr. Kazi Afzalur Rahman, Professor Dr. Md. Sanaul Rabbi, and Professor Dr. Md. Mamunur Rashid also spoke at the program.
The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Muhammad Mostafa Kamal Bhuiya, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. On behalf of the graduating students, Sadman Sarar, Sanaul Haque Joy, and Saima Islam Saba delivered farewell remarks. The program was hosted by Priyam Chakraborty and Navia Hasan from the ME-21 batch.
