Huawei has organised campus recruitment programmes at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) to recruit talented engineering graduates.

On Tuesday, June 30, Huawei announced that nearly 400 students from various departments of two universities participated in the program held on June 20 in Dhaka and Chattogram. Following a multiple-choice examination and interviews, the selected candidates will be offered employment opportunities at Huawei.

Representing Huawei at both events were Senior Marketing Manager Kaushik Ahmed Reza and Human Resources Manager Iftekhar Rahman.

At BUET, the programme was attended by Xieren, Vice President of Delivery and Service. At CUET, Huawei's Deputy Director of Human Resources, Md. Fara Nawaz, participated in the event.

Maben, Managing Director of Huawei South Asia, said the company regularly recruits local talent, including a significant number of fresh graduates. He said the campus recruitment programme offers talented graduates an opportunity to apply their knowledge in a global work environment while developing industry-ready skills. He expressed confidence that the initiative would help develop skilled professionals for Bangladesh's ICT sector.

Professor A. B. M. Alim Al Islam of BUET said such initiatives help bridge the gap between academia and industry by giving students exposure to real-world work environments, modern technologies and industry challenges.

Professor Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury of CUET said the programme provides students with an opportunity to begin their careers at one of the world's leading technology companies while enhancing their technical skills and industry readiness.

Huawei said that most of its employees in Bangladesh are locally recruited and continue to contribute not only to the company's operations in Bangladesh but also to its regional and global business activities.
