Doctor Couple Kushal and Sushma Announce End of Nearly Two-Decade Marriage
Popular physician couple Dr Syedul Ashraf Kushal and Dr Sushma Reza have announced their decision to end their nearly two-decade-long marriage.
In a joint message shared on social media on Saturday (27 June), the couple said they had reached the decision through extensive reflection and mutual understanding and wanted people to hear the news directly from them.
According to the statement, they began their journey together at a young age and spent nearly two decades building a family, raising children and sharing countless moments of achievement, struggle and memories.
They noted that, over time, both individuals and their relationship evolved and eventually led them to conclude that separating peacefully was the most respectful path forward.
The couple also clarified that the moments shared publicly over the years were never intended to portray a perfect relationship but reflected genuine experiences from their lives.
Expressing gratitude to family members, friends, colleagues and well-wishers, they requested that this personal transition not become a subject of rumours, assumptions or public judgement.
They especially appealed to people close to them to avoid discussing the matter in front of their children and family members, acknowledging that the transition remains emotionally difficult for loved ones.
Concluding the message, they said they were closing this chapter with mutual respect, gratitude and acceptance, while encouraging people to value time with family and loved ones.
