Police Dismiss Social Media Claim of Seven Chhatra League Bodies Floating in Turag River
Police Headquarters has dismissed as baseless a social media claim alleging that the bodies of seven Awami League and Chhatra League activists were found floating in the Turag River.
In a statement issued on Saturday (27 June), AIG (Media and PR) A H M Shahadat Hossain said no such incident had been reported to law enforcement agencies.
He said misleading information was being circulated online in an apparent attempt to create confusion among the public and undermine confidence in law enforcement institutions.
Police urged citizens not to share or rely on unverified information circulating on social media platforms.
According to the statement, authorities are actively working to identify individuals involved in spreading false and misleading information and will take legal action where necessary.
