Prime Bank Seminar Spurs Youth Engagement in Financial Inclusion

A seminar titled “Financial Inclusion: Engaging and Inspiring Youth in Banking” was held at the Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX). The event took place on the BUTEX campus under the flagship initiative Prime Academy of Prime Bank PLC, in collaboration with the university’s Career Club.

At the seminar, Syed Sazzad Haider Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Information Officer of Prime Bank PLC, presented the keynote paper. In his address, he highlighted the importance of career development for young people, making sound decisions in critical situations, and acquiring industry-relevant skills.

Shaila Abedin, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Liability and Women Banking, emphasized ethical leadership, informed decision-making based on situational awareness, and the growing role of women in the future workplace. Meanwhile, M M Mahbub Hasan, Senior Vice President and Head of Financial Inclusion and School Banking, described financial literacy and money management as essential foundations for youth. He also presented the achievements and innovative initiatives of Prime Bank over its 31-year journey.

Professor Dr. Md. Zulhas Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of BUTEX, attended the event as the chief guest and stressed the importance of strengthening industry-academia collaboration. The opening remarks were delivered by Professor Dr. Md. Moshiur Rahman, Director of Student Welfare at BUTEX.

Through this seminar, Prime Bank reaffirmed its commitment—via Prime Academy—to empowering youth financially and expanding financial inclusion by creating an effective bridge between academia and practical banking services.
