Hybrid Hype: Omoda Jaecoo Unveils Tech-Packed J7 PHEV SHS at Dhaka Motor Show
Omoda Jaecoo has officially unveiled its highly anticipated hybrid SUV, the Jaecoo J7 PHEV SHS (J7 PHEV SHS), at the Dhaka Motor Show, marking a new milestone in the country’s automotive market. The launch event was held in the capital on Friday (April 25, 2026), where the vehicle’s advanced technology and high-performance capabilities were highlighted.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Omoda Jaecoo Director Saidur Rahman, Asian Holdings Managing Director Zahid Hossain, and Omoda Jaecoo Executive Director Sadikul Mostak. Also present were popular automobile influencer Haq Riaz and Mustavio, Admin of Car and Conversions.
The new vehicle features a modern Super Hybrid System (SHS) combined with a 5th-generation 1.5 TDGI engine. Together, the system delivers 341 BHP of power and 525 Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to reach a top speed of 180 kilometers per hour.
One of the key highlights of the Jaecoo J7 PHEV is its fuel efficiency. With a full charge and fuel, the vehicle can travel more than 1,350 kilometers continuously. In all-electric mode, it can cover over 100 kilometers, with an estimated cost of only Tk 2.20 per kilometer.
The SUV is equipped with an 18.3 kWh battery, which supports DC fast charging—allowing the battery to charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 20 minutes.
Designed with Bangladesh’s road and weather conditions in mind, the vehicle offers a 600 mm water wading capability, making it suitable for navigating waterlogged roads during the monsoon season. In terms of safety, the vehicle has earned a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. It is equipped with 8 airbags and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) to ensure passenger protection.
Additional high-end features include a 14.8-inch touchscreen, ventilated seats, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, enabling the car to power external electronic devices.
