The government has undertaken an initiative to launch free Wi-Fi internet services at the country's three international airports. Prime Minister Tareq Rahman has instructed the Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism to introduce free Wi-Fi services at the three airports, similar to those available in other developed countries' airports.

The Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism has been instructed to launch free Wi-Fi services, like those in the developed world, in the terminals of Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Chittagong's Shah Amanat International Airport, and Sylhet's MAG Osmani International Airport.

The Prime Minister gave this instruction on Thursday, 5th March, during a meeting of the Committee on Increasing Overseas Employment and Expatriate Welfare at the Secretariat.

Following the meeting, the Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary, Atiqur Rahman, informed journalists of this. He also stated that the Prime Minister directed initiatives to develop a skilled workforce for overseas employment of unemployed young men and women. To this end, he urged the opening of language training centres with a combination of local and foreign teachers, so that young people can learn different languages and find employment opportunities abroad.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Labour and Employment and Expatriate Welfare, Arifur Haq Chowdhury, State Minister Nurul Haq Noor, the Prime Minister's Advisor Mahdi Amin, Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar, and senior officials from the relevant ministries.
