Drone Display Dazzles Dhaka Ahead of Bengali New Year
In celebration of the Bengali New Year, the capital city of Dhaka is preparing for a unique technological spectacle featuring a drone show and concert. As part of the preparations, a rehearsal was held on Saturday in front of the National Parliament building on Manik Mia Avenue, showcasing a blend of lights, drones, and lasers in a captivating display.
The rehearsal illuminated the evening sky with visuals spanning from the year 1971 to 2024, paying tribute to the heroes of 2024. Themes of liberation were represented through the imagery of doves being released from cages. Additionally, the display included messages of solidarity with Palestine and conveyed wishes for the enduring friendship between Bangladesh and China.
The drone show, themed “New Year, New Bangladesh,” has been organized with the cooperation of the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka. The event is scheduled to take place at 5 PM on Monday, April 14, at Manik Mia Avenue, and will be open to the public.
Mustafa Sarwar Farooki, the Adviser on Cultural Affairs, expressed gratitude toward Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen for supporting the innovative event. Sharing several photos from the rehearsal on his verified Facebook profile, Farooki highlighted the technologically distinct nature of the celebration.
During the rehearsal, curious onlookers gathered outside the Parliament building, many capturing videos that have since gone viral on social media platforms.
