Meta Launches Enterprise AI Platform, Hires MongoDB CEO
Tech giant Meta has announced a new commercial initiative called Meta Enterprise Platform, aimed at bringing artificial intelligence (AI) technology to corporate and business customers worldwide.
The social media giant has appointed MongoDB CEO Chirantan “CJ” Desai to lead the new platform.
Following the success of its personal AI assistant, Muse, unveiled earlier this month, Meta is now looking to expand the commercial reach of its AI technology into the enterprise market.
AI Ecosystem and New Revenue Opportunities
Under the new initiative, Meta will make its full AI technology ecosystem available to enterprise customers and developers. The offering will include powerful AI tools such as Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code.
After investing substantial capital in AI innovation, Meta is now seeking to generate significant revenue by launching commercial services. The company expects its AI models and agents to fundamentally transform how millions of advertisers and businesses worldwide operate and communicate.
MongoDB Shares Tumble as Company Appoints Interim CEO
The sudden announcement that MongoDB Chief Executive Chirantan Desai would be joining Meta sent shockwaves through the stock market.
Shortly after the news broke, MongoDB’s share price fell by more than 17%. In response, the company’s board reinstated former CEO Dev Ittycheria as interim chief executive until a permanent successor is selected.
Market analysts believe Meta’s new strategy to expand AI services across the global corporate sector will intensify competition in the technology market.
