Expressing profound concern over allegations of marketplace manipulation, unauthorized account control, and ethical breaches surfacing against domestic outsourcing enterprise Betopia Group, the Bangladesh Association of Contact Center & Outsourcing (BACCO) has demanded an impartial and transparent institutional inquiry. As the central trade body representing the country’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) industries, BACCO stressed that unearthing factual ground truth through due process is vital to maintaining Bangladesh's global outsourcing credibility.
The development was formally communicated via an official statement issued by Kazi Mehedi Hasan Ferdous, Executive Officer of the BACCO Secretariat, on Saturday, 26 September 2026.
The trade association referenced recent investigative reports indicating that Betopia Group engaged in non-compliant account networks, fabricated artificial reviews, and disrupted legitimate freelancer operations across the global platform Fiverr. BACCO asserted that the validity of these allegations must be strictly determined by statutory bodies and appropriate regulatory frameworks through an evidence-backed, transparent, and fair inquiry rather than speculative preconceptions or unilateral assessments.
BACCO highlighted that should the independent investigation substantiate structural violations or regulatory malpractice, appropriate legal and regulatory measures must be enforced in accordance with domestic laws, platform terms of service, and industry governance codes. Such enforcement is deemed crucial to safeguarding the professional sanctity and ethical standing of the nation's outsourcing sector.
Concurrently, the apex body underlined that Bangladesh’s broader BPO, ITES, and freelance sectors are anchored by hundreds of certified enterprises and hundreds of thousands of independent professionals operating with high ethical integrity, technical excellence, and dedication. BACCO urged all stakeholders—including market regulators, technology platforms, and media entities—to exercise measured responsibility so that isolated institutional allegations do not tarnish the hard-earned global reputation and buyer confidence enjoyed by the nation's digital services workforce.
