TANGAIL: Sounding a strict warning against elements attempting to incite unrest, Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and Science and Technology Faqiir Mahbub Anam asserted that anarchists and saboteurs will face uncompromising state suppression. He delivered the remarks as chief guest at a massive mass procession and protest rally held in Dhanbari, Tangail, on Saturday afternoon, 26 September 2026, organized to resist orchestrated disruptions.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Faqiir Mahbub Anam stated, "The Prime Minister has made it explicitly clear that perpetrators of violence and anarchy will receive zero leniency. Those who reject democratic norms will be confronted alongside the people. Ordinary citizens prioritize stability, safety, and economic security. To safeguard lasting peace across the nation, every necessary administrative and legal measure will be executed in partnership with the public."
The political mobilization commenced as a large-scale mass procession originating from the Dhanbari Upazila BNP party office. The rally traversed key arterial routes, including the Dhaka-Tangail-Joydebpur-Jamalpur Highway, the Dhanbari-Tarakandi Regional Road, and core municipal marketplaces before concluding back at the central party complex.
The subsequent rally was addressed by Dhanbari Upazila BNP President Principal M Azizur Rahman, General Secretary Enamul Haque VP, Municipal BNP President S M A Chobhan, and Municipal General Secretary Rafiqul Islam Swapon, among other district leaders.
The demonstration witnessed large-scale participation from leaders and activists representing the upazila and municipal committees of BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, Mohila Dal, Sramik Dal, Sechhashebok Dal, and JASAS.
