Sources including Akashvani Radio and NewsOnAir reported that by signing the New Delhi Declaration adopted at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Bangladesh has paved the way for enhanced global experience-sharing and cooperation in applying AI technologies in agriculture, healthcare, and public administration. Experts believe that for a developing country like Bangladesh, the declaration represents a milestone that will help minimize the risks of artificial intelligence while maximizing its potential.
According to a report by News18, Dhaka formally endorsed the New Delhi Declaration following the AI Impact Summit 2026, held in the Indian capital on February 18–19. Through this declaration, Bangladesh, along with 89 countries and international organizations, has pledged to work collectively on AI development.
One of the key aspects of the declaration is support for India’s proposed vision of “AI for All.” By becoming a partner in this initiative, Bangladesh has added a new dimension to regional cooperation. The core principles of the vision include equity, accessibility, and global collaboration.
From Bangladesh’s side, it has been stated that the endorsement aims to ensure that the benefits of AI technology are not confined solely to developed nations but reach ordinary people as well.
However, the reports did not specify which authority or institution from Bangladesh formally extended the support. It was noted only that the summit marked the opening of a new chapter in South Asia’s AI advancement. The 89 signatory countries have committed to jointly building a trusted and resilient AI ecosystem. Experts believe Bangladesh’s participation could play a significant role in attracting foreign investment and promoting innovative research in the country’s technology sector.
