Dhaka, August 13, 2026 (Thursday): Huawei has officially launched its industry-first grid-forming smart string inverters and energy storage solutions in Bangladesh. The launch took place yesterday during an event titled “Grid-Forming Technology Accelerating Green Future” held in Dhaka under the theme “Solar + Storage Synergy Accelerates Renewable Energy Transition.” The landmark event brought together key stakeholders from Bangladesh's power sector, including government officials, local utility providers, power producers, global investors, technical advisors, consultants, and EPC companies.

At the event, Huawei unveiled its industry-leading 500kW+ grid-forming smart string inverter SUN2000-506KTL-H3 alongside the advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) LUTERRA-6261-2S/4S. Will Yu, Managing Director of Huawei South Asia Digital Power Department, delivered the welcome address. Wang Junfeng, Chief Technology Officer of Huawei Asia Pacific Digital Power Business, presented on "Global Renewable Energy Trends," while Ma Ben, Managing Director of Huawei South Asia Public Affairs, delivered the closing remarks.

Will Yu stated, “Integrating solar power with battery storage forms the cornerstone of the global energy transition. Solar generation alone is no longer sufficient; intelligent energy storage and grid-forming capabilities are vital. Huawei is dedicated to supporting Bangladesh in building a smarter, more resilient power grid.”

The SUN2000-506KTL-H3 inverter delivers higher power density, intelligent Operations & Maintenance (O&M), superior safety, and robust grid-forming capabilities, significantly lowering Balance of System (BOS) costs and the Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE). Complementing it, the LUTERRA-6261-2S BESS features a 92.6% Round-Trip Efficiency (RTE), pack-level optimization, Cell-to-Grid (C2G) safety architecture, and rapid grid-forming response.

Masud Rana, Head of Technical Department at Paramount Group, shared their experience with a 100MW solar plant, saying, “Our solar plants in remote regions like Lalmonirhat, Pabna, Sirajganj, and Moulvibazar face dusty environments requiring high protection. Huawei's inverters feature an IP66 rating, an extremely low failure rate, and rapid technical support.”

The integrated solar+storage solution seamlessly aligns with Bangladesh’s grid requirements and policy framework. By storing surplus daytime solar energy for peak-demand dispatch, regulating ramp rates, frequency, and voltage, and providing reactive power support, it dramatically improves grid integration, resilience, and long-term sustainability.
