UITS Students to Earn Harvard Verified Certificates Through Global Learning Initiative

Students of the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) will have the opportunity to complete Harvard University online courses and earn internationally recognised verified certificates through a new global learning initiative.

June 28, Sunday, the university announced the programme in a press release.

The initiative is being implemented by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in partnership with FutureNation and edX. Eligible students will receive training in high-demand technology fields, including Cybersecurity, Data Science and Machine Learning.

The learning pathways are designed for beginners with no prior programming experience. The curriculum gradually progresses from programming fundamentals to practical applications.

Each course includes structured learning modules, interactive coding exercises, practical assignments and assessments to help students build technical expertise and real-world problem-solving skills.

Although Harvard courses on edX can normally be audited free of charge, learners are generally required to pay a verification fee of around US$300 to obtain an official Harvard Verified Certificate.

Under the institutional partnership between FutureNation and edX, eligible UITS students who successfully complete all course requirements will receive the official verified certificate without paying the verification fee.

According to the university, the initiative will remove financial barriers to internationally recognised certification while strengthening students' academic profiles, improving career competitiveness and preparing them for opportunities in the rapidly evolving technology sector.

UITS said the programme reflects its commitment to expanding access to global-quality education and equipping students with internationally recognised knowledge, skills and credentials needed to succeed in the digital economy.
