Singer Bangladesh Steps into European Exports with Locally Made Appliances
Singer Bangladesh Limited, an associate of Beko, the flagship brand of Turkey’s Koç Holding, is manufacturing a wide range of home appliances—including refrigerators, televisions, air conditioners, washing machines, and other household products—in Bangladesh to cater to the local market. By producing more than 90 percent of domestic demand locally, the company has significantly reduced import dependency and has now begun export operations to the European market, starting with sewing machines—a product line that originally made the Singer brand widely known in Bangladesh.
In a press release issued on Friday, January 30, Singer Bangladesh announced the completion of its first export shipment of wire harness components.
The press release stated that, alongside its established products and services, the company has undertaken several transformational initiatives in Bangladesh to expand electronics manufacturing and meet evolving market demand. As part of this transformation, Singer has launched state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, the country’s first concept store and flagship store, and a modern workplace reflecting the company’s renewed corporate vision. Most recently, Singer has entered the European export market and commenced air conditioner production for the first time at its own factory in Bangladesh.
Despite ongoing social and economic challenges, the company reported that Singer Bangladesh achieved a 14.3 percent revenue growth in 2025, while its gross profit increased by BDT 214 million, the release added.
Earlier in 2025, Singer Bangladesh reached a major milestone by inaugurating a cutting-edge home appliances manufacturing plant at the Bangladesh Special Economic Zone (BSEZ). Built with an investment of USD 78 million, the facility represents a significant step toward innovation, sustainability, and employment generation, with the potential to create jobs for nearly 4,000 people.
