HSC Recheck Results Released on Official Website; Several Students Secure GPA-5

The official website has published the recheck results of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations. Following the re-evaluation, 737 students across the HSC, Alim, and Technical boards have newly achieved an A+. Among them, 201 candidates from the Dhaka Board have secured GPA-5. Additionally, 308 students have passed after previously failing.

The results, published at 10:00 am on Sunday, 16 November, were signed by Professor S M Kamal Uddin Hayder, Controller of Examinations, Dhaka Education Board.

Earlier, a notice issued by the Dhaka Education Board last Thursday stated that the recheck results would be released on Sunday at 10:00 am on the board’s website. Applicants would also receive their results via SMS. Students were requested to collect their results from the website. Similarly, the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board announced that Alim recheck results would be released at the same time, with applicants notified through SMS.

HSC Recheck Result Details:

According to board sources, a record number of applications were submitted for re-evaluation this year. Across the 11 education boards, 226,000 students submitted applications for the rechecking of 428,000 answer scripts. The highest number of applications came from the Dhaka Board, while the lowest was recorded at the Barishal Board.

Subject-wise, English and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) received the largest number of re-evaluation requests. Applications were accepted for seven days from 17 to 23 October, following the publication of the main results on 16 October. Students paid a fee of Tk 150 per subject for re-evaluation.

Professor S M Kamal Uddin Hayder, Convener of the Inter-Education Board Examination Regulatory Committee and Controller of Examinations at the Dhaka Board, stated that every application was reviewed with utmost importance. He said, “Each answer script submitted for re-evaluation has been carefully reviewed. Students can view the results on the board’s website, and SMS notifications will also be sent to the applicants.”

Board insiders confirmed once again that this year saw a record-breaking number of applications: 226,000 students applied for the re-evaluation of 428,000 answer scripts across 11 boards. The Dhaka Board received the highest number of applications, while Barishal received the lowest. English and ICT topped the list in terms of subject-wise applications.

For reference, this year, a total of 1,251,111 students from 9,197 institutions nationwide appeared for the HSC and equivalent examinations. Among them, 726,960 students passed, with a pass rate of 58.83 percent. A total of 508,701 candidates (41.17 percent) failed. The pass rate for female students was 62.97 percent, compared to 54.60 percent for male students.
