In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution-4IR, the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DoICT) has opened a new horizon toward building a technology-driven, knowledge-based Bangladesh through its “Establishment of Digital Labs in Educational Institutions Project.” As part of this initiative, the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) has launched a nationwide Training of Trainers (ToT) program to equip teachers with advanced technological skills. The training is being conducted by the Bangladesh-Korea Institute of ICT (BKIICT), an affiliate of BCC.

The five-day training program offers participants hands-on instruction in cutting-edge fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Blockchain, Drone Technology, 3D Printing, Nanotechnology, and Cybersecurity. A total of 1,200 officials from the DoICT and the Ministry of Education are being trained under this initiative. The first batch of training concluded on Thursday, November 13. The 90 officials from this batch will now oversee digital labs in secondary schools across the country, helping students familiarize themselves with modern technologies.

One of the trainees remarked, “This training has changed our mindset; we now see technology as a tool for development. This initiative will play a vital role in shaping a new Bangladesh by empowering the next generation with technology-based skills.”

It may be noted that the five-day training program was inaugurated on November 9 by Md. Abu Sayed, Executive Director and Additional Secretary of the Bangladesh Computer Council. The event was also attended by Project Director Md. Lokman Hossain.
