The Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, has said that the government is striving to make technology education accessible to students of all levels across the country.
He stated, “Bangladesh is now on the path of digital transformation. Qawmi madrasa students are also partners in this journey. Their acquisition of digital skills from the primary level will play an important role in developing a knowledge-based society and a sustainable economy in the future.”
He made these remarks on Thursday as the chief guest at the certificate distribution ceremony of a training workshop on basic digital skills for Qawmi madrasa students held at BARD in Cumilla, according to a press release from the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment, Taiyeb said the workshop marked an important step towards achieving the goal of making technology education widely available.
The Special Assistant further noted, “By acquiring digital skills in line with the demands of the era, Qawmi students will be able to benefit from online education as well as various modern technological facilities. This will expand their employment opportunities and contribute to overall social development. Next, we will provide advanced-level training through the ICT Division. We will also aim to organize such training programs on skills development nationwide.”
At the event, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb handed over certificates to the participants.
Organizers reported that a total of 160 Qawmi students took part in the training across eight batches. The program was supported by the “Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE)” project implemented by the Bangladesh Computer Council under the ICT Division.
Earlier, Taiyeb conducted a session on data governance and interoperability at Cumilla University.
The event was presided over by Saif Uddin Ahmed, Director General of the Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD). Special guests included Joint Secretary of the ICT Division Mohammad Saiful Hasan and Muhaddith Allama Abdur Razzak, Principal of Kasemul Ulum Madrasa.
