The Taskforce on White Paper Formulation has called for information to prepare a comprehensive white paper investigating and analyzing irregularities and corruption in the ICT sector between 2009 and 2024.

This call was made through a press release issued by the ICT Division on Monday, 24 August.

The announcement stated that the committee, formed on 21 April 2025 under the directive of the Chief Adviser, has already entered its second and final phase of activities. At this stage, the tenure of the taskforce has been extended by three months—from 22 June to 21 September 2025—and three new expert members have been included.

The newly appointed members are:

  1. Professor Rezwan Khan, renowned technologist and Chairman, Power Grid Company of Bangladesh.

  2. Professor Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, BRAC University.

  3. Professor Rifat Shahriyar, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

The taskforce is being led by internationally acclaimed development economist, Professor Dr. M. Niaz Asadullah. To ensure active participation of citizens and stakeholders in the final stage of white paper preparation, the public has been invited to share information, opinions, and recommendations.

The announcement particularly emphasized that any details of irregularities in project approval and implementation processes may be submitted—such as “tender manipulation” or “politically influenced project site selection.”
