JUST Pharmacy: Welcoming New, Bidding Farewell

The Pharmacy Department of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) held its orientation for new students and a farewell ceremony for graduating students. The event included a colorful rally, welcoming new students with flowers; honoring graduating students with flowers and crests; and a cultural program.

The orientation and farewell were held on Monday, May 11th, in the Professor Mohammad Sharif Hossain Gallery of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam Academic Building at the university. Professor Dr. Sheikh Mizanur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Biological and Technological Sciences of JUST, was present as a special guest at the event.

In his speech as a special guest, Professor Dr. Sheikh Mizanur Rahman addressed the new students, saying, "The university is a vast space. The most important thing for you here is to choose good friends. Good friends will take you one step closer to success. Another thing you need to keep in mind is to do things on time. By making proper use of time, you can build your careers and help lead the country further on the path to prosperity."

Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Chairman of the Pharmacy Department, presided over the ceremony. Also speaking at the event were Dr. Selina Akhter, Chairman of the Department of Microbiology, Dr. Kishore Majumder, Professor of the Pharmacy Department, and Mr. Mohiuddin Andalib, Marketing Director of Servier Bangladesh Operations, among others. Attendees included Professor Dr. Md. Aminur Rahman, Chairman of the Department of Fisheries and Marine Bioscience, Dr. Md. Alauddin, Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and faculty and students from the departments. The event was hosted by Rafia Tanzim Afrin and Beauty Rani Dey, students of the Pharmacy Department. A delightful cultural program featuring students from the department was held in the evening.
