WhatsApp Widens Window: Official App Now Available for iPad

Meta has officially launched the long-awaited WhatsApp app for iPad, enabling users to enjoy a fully optimized experience on Apple’s tablet for the first time. According to a report by TechCrunch, the new app allows users to make both video and audio calls with up to 32 participants, share their screens, and switch between front and rear cameras during calls.

Previously, iPad users had to rely on WhatsApp’s web version via a browser to access the platform. With the launch of the dedicated app, users can now take full advantage of iPadOS multitasking features such as Stage Manager, Split View, and Slide Over.

WhatsApp confirmed that the new app is compatible with Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil, and it syncs seamlessly with other devices like iPhones and Macs.

“All personal messages, calls, and media will remain protected with end-to-end encryption, just as they were before,” WhatsApp stated.

The new iPad app is now available for download from the App Store.
