Banglalink Backs GSMA Guidelines to Boost Digital Inclusion for Persons with Disabilities

Mobile operator Banglalink has pledged to adopt the GSMA's policy framework to accelerate digital inclusion for persons with disabilities. The guidelines are built on three key pillars: (1) ensuring digital inclusion within the organization; (2) understanding how to design disability-friendly services; and (3) driving innovation to create accessible products and services for all.

By aligning with these global principles, Banglalink joins a worldwide effort aimed at developing inclusive digital products and services, raising awareness about the importance of accessibility, and ensuring that everyone — regardless of physical limitations — can access digital services.

In a media statement issued on Saturday, Banglalink CEO Johan Buse said, “We firmly believe that access to digital services and modern technology should be a fundamental right for everyone. Physical disabilities should not stand in the way of opportunities.”

He added, “As a digital operator committed to inclusive progress, we are dedicated to ensuring that digital transformation benefits everyone. By endorsing the GSMA guidelines, we are taking a step further in this journey. Our goal is to break down the barriers that prevent persons with disabilities from participating in the digital world. This promise is not just symbolic; it reflects our commitment to building an inclusive digital ecosystem where services are more accessible and the benefits of digital advancement can be shared equally.”

To support digital inclusion, Banglalink has already redesigned its website to improve web accessibility and has installed ramps in its offices and customer care centers nationwide to better accommodate persons with disabilities.
