Meta AI Marks Milestone with Massive One Billion Monthly Users

Meta AI has surpassed one billion monthly active users, according to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Speaking at the company’s annual shareholder meeting on Wednesday, Zuckerberg revealed, “As of last September, this number was around 500 million.” The news was reported by TechCrunch.

Zuckerberg stated that Meta’s key goal for the year is to make Meta AI “more personalized, voice-based, and entertaining.” He also hinted at the company’s long-term vision of building a business model around its AI services.

In a forward-looking note, he suggested that “paid recommendations or a subscription service may be introduced,” potentially giving users access to greater computing power.

Should a subscription model be launched, Meta AI could find itself in more direct competition with other leading AI platforms, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

It is worth noting that Meta recently released a standalone app for Meta AI, further signaling its strategic push into the generative AI space.
