OpenAI Plans to Integrate Sora into ChatGPT
OpenAI is planning to integrate its AI video generator Sora directly into ChatGPT, according to company officials who shared the update during an Office Hours session on Discord on Friday. The news was reported by TechCrunch.
Currently, Sora is accessible only through a separate web application, which was launched last December. However, Rohan Saha, OpenAI’s Product Lead, confirmed that the company is actively working on bringing Sora to ChatGPT. He did not specify a timeline for the rollout.
Once Sora is integrated, users will be able to generate videos directly within ChatGPT, potentially increasing the platform’s popularity. Additionally, this feature could be introduced as part of ChatGPT’s premium subscription.
Furthermore, OpenAI is also considering using Sora for image generation. Currently, DALL·E 3 handles image creation within ChatGPT, but a Sora-powered image generator is expected to produce more realistic images. OpenAI is also working on a new version of the Sora Turbo model, which has been powering the Sora web app.
