Integrity Essential for Digital Land Services: Land Advisor

Land Advisor Ali Imam Majumder emphasized the importance of integrity among personnel managing digital land services. He made these remarks on Tuesday (January 28) during the inaugural session of an orientation program for officials and employees on the second version of automated land service software, held at the Land Building’s conference room in Dhaka.

“Land management is intricately connected to people’s lives, and land rights are universal. To ensure these rights, we have undertaken the digitization of land services, which is a timely initiative to simplify processes,” he said. Highlighting the significance of transparency, security, and modernization in land management, he added, “Many people’s socio-economic lives are directly influenced by these improvements.”

The advisor urged employees to work diligently to ensure sustainable digital land services. “To preserve our identity, we must utilize our training-acquired knowledge for public service. The individuals operating the devices behind digital services must also fulfill their responsibilities with integrity. By delivering genuine services to citizens, we can foster a positive image of the ministry among the public,” he stated.

Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land, A.S.M. Saleh Ahmed, addressed earlier challenges due to server slowdowns, noting, “The performance of the software has significantly improved compared to before.” He added that citizens are now able to access services like name registration, land development tax, and records of rights (Khatian). “Officials must treat service recipients courteously and deliver services with sincerity. Outstanding service delivery will be recognized and rewarded,” he remarked.

The session, presided over by the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land, was attended by A.J.M. Salauddin Nagri, Chairman (Secretary) of the Land Reform Board; Muhammad Ibrahim, Chairman (Secretary) of the Land Appeal Board; and other senior officials from the ministry.

Before the session, the advisor observed a live demonstration of drone-enabled land survey activities and visited the Citizen Land Service Center located on the ground floor of the Land Building.
