Biman Resumes Dhaka-Dammam Flights from November 7

Biman Bangladesh Airlines is set to resume regular flight operations on the temporarily suspended Dhaka-Dammam-Dhaka route starting November 7. However, due to security considerations, flights on this route will operate exclusively during daytime until further notice. The information was disclosed by Biman's public relations department on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

According to Biman's official release, daily flights will operate on this route from November 7. On the other hand, considering the security situation, flights on the Dhaka-Riyadh-Dhaka route will remain suspended until further notice. Biman also noted that passenger demand on the Riyadh route is currently low as travelers are using alternative transit routes to travel to Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, following airstrikes on Saudi Arabian airports, Riyadh-bound flights began facing cancellations starting October 10. According to data from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), a total of 171 Riyadh-bound flights from Dhaka were canceled up to November 3, affecting 23,077 passengers.

Kawsar Mahmud, Assistant Director of CAAB's Public Relations Department, stated that among the canceled flights, 94 were direct flights. These included 45 flights by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 10 by US-Bangla, 21 by Saudia, and 18 by Riyadh Air. Additionally, among the 77 canceled transit flights were 30 by IndiGo, 7 by SalamAir, 1 by EgyptAir, 14 by Emirates, 9 by Qatar Airways, 8 by Flydubai, and 8 by Air India.

Kawsar Mahmud indicated that this trend of flight cancellations might persist if the security situation does not normalize.
