Blending indigenous cultural craftsmanship with state-of-the-art telecommunications infrastructure, leading connectivity provider Grameenphone has formally inaugurated a modernized Grameenphone Centre (GPC) in Rangpur.
Tailored to provide digital-first services, enterprise solutions, and smart device ecosystems, the center features an interior design incorporating patterns of Rangpur's heritage Shatranji art to connect local traditions with advanced technology.
The flagship outlet, located at the Jahaj Company intersection in the city, was officially opened on Monday, 12 October, by Grameenphone Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Abul Kashem Mohiuddin Al-Amin. The ceremony was attended by Head of Customer Experience and Service Abdulla Al Mahmud, Rajshahi Circle Business Head Md. Atikul Hossain, and other senior corporate officials.

Subscribers and enterprise clients can access advanced digital applications, device portfolios, SIM lifecycle services, and dedicated corporate consultancy.
Speaking at the launch, Grameenphone CTO Abul Kashem Mohiuddin Al-Amin stated that the fundamental objective of telecommunications technology is to simplify lives and keep people reliably connected. He noted that the center embodies this vision by consolidating products, digital platforms, and technical support in a single location. He highlighted that nationwide deployment of the low-band 700MHz spectrum will ensure deep indoor signal penetration and durable outdoor connectivity.
Addressing growing cyber threats, the CTO emphasized that raising digital hygiene awareness and offering cybersecurity suites like GP Shield remain core operational priorities. He expressed confidence that resilient networks and secure data channels will expand socio-economic opportunities across education, commerce, and entrepreneurship throughout the greater Rangpur region, official sources confirmed.
