Fostering algorithmic problem-solving capabilities and competitive programming skills among the youth, the 'ICPC-JRC Inter-College Programming Contest 2026' alongside the 'ICPC-JRC Intra-UAP Programming Contest 2026' concluded at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) campus. The event was jointly hosted on Saturday, 29 August 2026, by UAP's Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and the Programming Contest Club (PCC), gathering 270 coders across schools, colleges, and university departments.

Modeled strictly after the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) architecture, the four-hour rigorous coding competition utilized automated real-time test verification engines and dynamic live scoreboards.

In the Inter-College Division, Team 'Desh' from Birshreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College clinched the championship title, securing a BDT 21,000 cash grant. Team 'Walizamanee' from Cardiff International School, Dhaka, finished as first runner-up (BDT 18,000), and Team 'Sugoi Desu Ne' from CDA Public School and College achieved second runner-up (BDT 15,000). Additionally, Khulna Zilla School's 'HD_ARHoushi' and Govt. Harji Asmat College's 'Al-Kindi Crypt' placed fourth (BDT 12,000) and fifth (BDT 9,000) respectively, totaling BDT 75,000 in divisional prize money.

In the Intra-UAP Senior Division, 'UAP_Coroutine' emerged as champions, with 'Compiler_Crew' and 'De_kichu_ekta' finishing as first and second runners-up. The Junior Division saw 'Dekhi!!' taking the championship trophy, followed by 'RizKo' and 'Algorithm_Avengers'. Winners in both university tiers were awarded BDT 12,000, BDT 9,000, and BDT 6,000 respectively.

UAP Board of Trustees Chairman K. M. Mojibul Hoque attended the valedictory session as chief guest, with Selina Nawroz Choudhury, spouse of the late National Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, present as guest of honor. Special guests included UAP Trustee Dr. Mohammad Alauddin; Prof. Dr. Abul L. S. Haque of NSU; Dist. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad of BRAC University; Munir Hasan, President of BdOSN; and Prof. Salma Begum, Principal of Govt. Science College. UAP Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan served as program chair.

The competitive event commemorates National Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury's pioneering legacy in establishing Bangladesh's programming contest ecosystem—which culminated in UAP hosting the 45th ICPC World Finals in 2022. The scholarship awards were funded via a $50,000 grant provided to UAP by the ICPC Foundation, with Southeast Bank PLC acting as title sponsor and Innovative Skills Limited as bronze sponsor.
