MPO Teacher Transfer Software Restarts After 11 Days

The online transfer software for MPO-enlisted teachers working at private schools and colleges across Bangladesh has become operational again after an 11-day interruption.

According to sources at the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), the platform resumed service on Sunday (June 21).

DSHE has instructed heads of institutions who have not yet completed teacher data input to finish the process as quickly as possible. Authorities warned that negligence or delays in submitting required information may result in administrative action.

The data submission process for teacher transfers began on June 1 through institution heads. However, although data entry continued until June 9, the platform stopped functioning from June 10.

Officials later explained that the system experienced a shutdown due to approximately 100,000 simultaneous hits, creating excessive server pressure.

To resolve the issue, DSHE contacted software developer TeleTalk and formally requested technical intervention.

Sources familiar with the matter said the transfer platform required around 7,168 GB of storage capacity to operate properly, but initially only 200 GB had been allocated. As a result, the infrastructure failed to handle the load.

After increasing the storage capacity, TeleTalk restored the platform and resumed services.

Earlier, on June 16, DSHE Director General Professor Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel stated that nearly 7 terabytes of storage were necessary, while only 200 GB had initially been provided, leading to the technical disruption.

With the system restored, authorities expect teacher transfer processing and related data submission activities to continue normally.
