CUET VC Meets Students

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem held an interaction with general students to discuss student safety, infrastructure development, service quality, future priorities and a roadmap for the university.
Chattogram, Thursday, August 13, 2026. The interaction was held at 11am at the Academic Council Room, with a large number of students from different departments attending.
At the beginning of the meeting, participants observed a one-minute silence in memory of CUET 2024 batch students Chomok Dutta of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Shanto Deb of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, who died prematurely after drowning in a pond yesterday.
The meeting discussed recent developments, measures to ensure student safety, infrastructure development, improvement of service quality, future actions and preparation of a roadmap, among other important issues. Discussions were also held and decisions taken on several matters concerning the university community.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem said,
"I have only completed a few working days since joining. Within this limited time, I have strived to identify problems, opportunities, and necessary actions to take prompt steps. We aim to move forward with mutual discussion and cooperation. Personally, I believe in action, not conventional assurances."
He said, "I want to make various resources, offices, and branches of CUET more functional. I expect everyone to give their best from their respective positions. I want to continue interaction and sharing with my dear students. If there is sharing from both sides, any problem can be resolved quickly. I hope that by working together, we will achieve great success in the future."
Registrar (Additional Charge) Professor Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir; Director of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Islam; Deputy Director Professor Dr. Abu Md. Moazzem Hossain; Assistant Director Md. Masum Rana Pramanik; Deputy Director (Public Relations) Mohammad Fazlur Rahman; and Public Relations Officer Aidit Ibn Manju were also present at the meeting among others.
