Muzubus exhibition educates Ishwardi students on nuclear science and technology
Rooppur Nuclear Project Hosts Mobile Science Outreach

As part of the public awareness initiatives of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Construction Project, a two-day outreach event titled "Nuclear Science Education Program and Mobile Science Museum Exhibition" was held across educational institutions in Ishwardi upazila. The event was conducted on 13 and 14 August 2026 in collaboration with the National Museum of Science and Technology.
Students from Ikshu Gobeshona High School, Alhaj Textile Mills High School, Maniknagar Girls' High School, and Jamiatul Quranul Karim Madrasah actively participated in the campaign. Interactive scientific displays were presented to students using the 'Muzubus', a mobile science laboratory unit from the National Museum of Science and Technology.
Representatives from the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission and the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project held detailed discussions on nuclear energy, radiation, peaceful applications of nuclear technology, and project progress. Interactive Q&A sessions and science quiz competitions were also conducted.
Dr. Anand Kumar Das, Director of the Scientific Information Division at the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, stated, "Our objective is to inspire students toward science and present accurate information regarding the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. Interactive activities through the Muzubus make science education engaging and accessible."
Project Focal Point (Media) and Senior Scientific Information Officer Saikat Ahmed noted, "Delivering accurate, fact-based concepts during early student life is essential. Initiatives like Muzubus help build scientific temperament while dispelling common myths and misconceptions surrounding nuclear technology."
The event was attended by Asma Begum, Chief Scientific Officer of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Senior Librarian Maruf Hossain, and Project Public Relations Officer Kazi Mohammad Iqbal Hasani. Chief Display Officer Saikat Sarkar represented the National Museum of Science and Technology alongside other officials.
