To tackle the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and develop skilled human resources in the information security domain, the University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh (UFTB) has inaugurated an advanced "Cyber Security Lab."

The laboratory, set up under the Department of Cyber Security Engineering, was officially opened on Wednesday (June 24) at the university's Academic Building-2 by UFTB Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Abu Yusuf.

Speaking as the chief guest, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted that cyber security is now a vital component of national security and economic stability. He emphasized that this modern, lab-based setup will play a crucial role in providing practical training, fostering academic research, and addressing real-world technical problems.

The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Rakib Hossain, Chairman of the Cyber Security Engineering Department, and attended by faculty members and students. In his speech, the departmental chairman stated that since cyber threats are evolving constantly, establishing a tech-equipped lab is essential for students to acquire up-to-date competencies.

Through this facility, students will gain comprehensive hands-on experience in network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, encryption, and cyber defense mechanisms. Faculty members expressed optimism that the newly established lab will accelerate institutional innovation and significantly contribute to building a proficient workforce for the country's growing cyber security sector.
