Tech-Driven Monitoring Emphasized in Aviation and Tourism Projects
Afroza Khanam has stressed the importance of technology-based monitoring, progress tracking, and accountability in the ongoing development projects under Bangladesh’s aviation and tourism sector.
She made the remarks on Saturday, May 23, at a review meeting on the implementation progress of the Revised Annual Development Programme (RADP) for April 2026. The meeting was held at the conference room of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
The discussion focused on strengthening digital monitoring systems to ensure both the pace and quality of project implementation.
In her remarks as the chief guest, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism Afroza Khanam said that, in line with the Prime Minister’s directives, remaining work on ongoing projects must be completed swiftly. She also instructed that any new project should be evaluated through a technology-based feasibility and financial capacity assessment before approval.
She further emphasized that no infrastructure project should begin without a well-structured plan and an effective supervision mechanism. Officials responsible for monitoring contractors’ progress were urged to remain more vigilant and accountable.
Highlighting public responsibility, Afroza Khanam said that transparency and accountability are essential to ensure that the benefits of publicly funded development projects reach citizens effectively. She called for strict oversight at all levels of implementation.
The meeting was chaired by Fahmida Akhter and attended by Air Vice Marshal Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq, senior officials from the ministry and the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, as well as project directors from various ongoing initiatives.
