The fourth season of Coke Studio Bangla is set to begin on YouTube with the release of a Nazrul Sangeet titled “Rum Jhum,” marking a new digital musical journey blending tradition and modern production.

According to a press release from Coca-Cola Bangladesh Limited, the season is launching as a special cultural tribute on the birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. The premiere episode will be released at 7:30 pm on Friday, May 23, via the official YouTube channel of Coke Studio Bangla.

The featured song “Rum Jhum” is based on the Ottoman-Turkish folk melody “Üsküdara Gider İken,” which was later adapted into Bengali poetic expression by Kazi Nazrul Islam. The platform aims to reimagine this historical cultural journey in a modern digital format.

Mohammad Main Ullah Chowdhury said that when a centuries-old Turkish folk tune finds expression in Bengali poetry, it reflects the evolution of culture, adding that Coke Studio Bangla honors this cultural continuity.

Positioned as a technology-driven music platform, Coke Studio Bangla continues to reshape Bengali music for younger audiences through YouTube-based digital content. The new season will feature a blend of traditional melodies and contemporary arrangements across eight songs, each built around different emotional and musical themes.

The track features vocals by Bangladeshi artists Mahtim Shakib and Nusrat Jahan, alongside Turkish collaborators Alif Hande Sevgel and Mustafa Ipek. This release also marks Mahtim Shakib’s debut on the platform and introduces Nusrat Jahan as a new voice in the series.
