TikTok Tackles Violations: Over 11 Million Videos Removed in Bangladesh in Q1 2025

TikTok has released its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the first quarter of 2025, covering the period from January to March. The report highlights the platform’s global efforts to maintain a safe digital environment by proactively identifying and removing content that violates its community standards.

According to the report, a total of 11,006,960 videos were removed from Bangladesh during Q1. The proactive removal rate in the country stood at an impressive 99.6%, with 97.7% of the videos taken down within 24 hours of being uploaded.

Globally, TikTok removed a total of 2.11 billion videos during the same period, which accounted for approximately 0.9% of all content uploaded to the platform. Of these, 1,843,789,987 videos were identified and taken down through automated detection systems. Meanwhile, 7,525,184 videos were reinstated after further review.

The report also noted that 99.0% of the violating videos were detected in advance, and 94.3% were removed within 24 hours of upload.

Regarding the nature of the violations, the report revealed that 30.1% of the videos were removed due to sensitive content. Additionally, 11.5% were taken down for breaching safety policies, while 15.6% violated privacy and security guidelines. The report also identified 45.5% of the flagged content as misinformation, and 13.8% were marked as edited or AI-generated content.

TikTok emphasized that the report reflects its continued commitment to creating a secure online space for its users by enforcing community standards with speed and transparency.
