Banglalink Boosts Backup: 1GB Free Data Amid Power Crisis
Ongoing load shedding and the prevailing electricity crisis have been disrupting mobile network services across various regions of the country. In this situation, leading digital operator Banglalink is providing 1 GB free data to ensure uninterrupted connectivity for customers.
On 26 April, Sunday, the operator—positioning itself as a “people-first” service provider—made the announcement. Under this initiative, customers in areas experiencing prolonged power outages will receive 1 GB of free internet valid for 24 hours. Eligible users will be notified via SMS once the offer is activated.
Regarding the initiative, Banglalink Chief Marketing Officer Kazi Mahbub Hasan said, “Due to prolonged power disruptions, connectivity is being affected. In such a situation, this is the right time to do something for our customers. Our goal is to ensure the best and most reliable connectivity for everyone. However, we also have to consider the realities of the current situation. This initiative is a small effort from our side to stand by our customers.”
He added that the initiative reflects Banglalink’s commitment to providing empathetic and meaningful support to customers during times of need.
