Samsung Launches AI-Powered RF59 French-Door Refrigerator in Bangladesh
Samsung has unveiled the country’s first French-door refrigerator with built-in AI features, the ‘RF59’, in the local market. Equipped with SmartThings connectivity and AI Energy Mode, the refrigerator is expected to add a new dimension to smart home appliance technology, the company said.
It was learned on Monday, 6 April, that the product was inaugurated at the Rangs e-Mart showroom in Gulshan-2. Present at the event from Samsung Bangladesh were Shahriar Bin Lutfur, Head of Business, Consumer Electronics Division; Anika Rahman, Chief Manager, Product Planning; and Rajib Das Gupta, Deputy General Manager, Retail Strategy. Representing Rangs Industries Limited were Executive Director Sardar Md. Khaled Bin Hasan, Head of Sales Golam Azam Khan, and General Manager Md. Shariful Islam.
While speaking at the unveiling program, Shahriar Bin Lutfur said the refrigerator has been designed considering modern technology, energy efficiency, and user needs. He expressed hope that it would make daily life easier and more comfortable.
Sardar Md. Khaled Bin Hasan of Rangs Industries said the product has been introduced as part of the company’s ongoing effort to bring technology-driven products aligned with changing consumer demands. He added that installment and EMI facilities will also be available for customers.
The RF59 model features a flat-door ‘Bespoke’ design, making it suitable for modern kitchens. Its AI Energy Mode analyzes user behavior and automatically reduces electricity consumption.
With SmartThings connectivity, users can control the refrigerator remotely via a smartphone app. Instant alerts can be received for events such as the door being left open or temperature changes. Additionally, features like ‘Power Cool’ and ‘Power Freeze’ can be activated remotely.
In terms of rapid cooling, the model is capable of cooling 39 minutes faster than competing products, according to the company. At the same time, ‘SpaceMax’ technology ensures a large internal capacity of 649 liters without increasing the external size.
The new refrigerator will be available at Rangs e-Mart showrooms across the country.
