BASIS Election 2026–2028 Schedule Announced ; Poll on June 27

The biennial election of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) for the 2026–2028 term will be held on 27 June. To this end, the Election Board has announced the full schedule.

According to the schedule announced, the election will be held to form an 11-member Executive Council. As part of conducting the election, the schedule was officially announced on 5 April 2026.

As per the schedule, the deadline for membership renewal and submission of necessary documents to become a voter has been set for 27 April 2026. Required documents include an updated trade license, income tax certificate, nomination letter of the organization’s representative, photograph, and a copy of the national identity card.

In the next step, the draft voter list will be published on 7 May. Objections to the list will be accepted from 8 to 10 May, and appeals will be resolved from 11 to 13 May. The final voter list will then be published on 14 and 15 May.

For participation in the election, candidates will be able to collect and submit nomination papers from 15 to 21 May. After verification, a preliminary list of candidates will be published from 22 to 28 May. Appeals regarding cancellation of nominations will be accepted from 28 to 30 May and resolved between 31 May and 2 June.

The list of valid candidates will be published on 3 June. The deadline for withdrawal of candidacy has been set from 4 to 6 June, and the final list of candidates will be published on the same day.

Voting will be held on Saturday, 27 June, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The results will be announced on the same day after voting concludes.

If there are any objections regarding the election, they may be submitted on 28 June. After hearings on appeals, the final results will be announced on 1 July. If necessary, a revised result based on appeals may be published on 8 July.

The Election Board has stated that it reserves the authority to amend the schedule if necessary. All election-related information will also be published on the notice board and website.
